Τraining - Seminars

Green Artivism, Erasmus+

Two-day meeting and training of Erasmus+ project partners entitled Green Artivism

On March 9-10, 2023, the 2nd live meeting of the Green Artivism project partners will take place in Maribor, Slovenia.

The purpose is training on methodologies, materials and online tools to create a digital guide that will help young people around the world to organize a participatory Green Citizenship workshop on climate change issues, European management policies and the principles of the European Green Deal .

How can we use digital artistic tools to create a community of young people and talk about climate change?

The Green Artivism project aims to provide young people with innovative digital artistic tools to help the climate change debate regain momentum – especially after the disruption caused by the Covid 19 pandemic. After the climate mobilizations of 2018 by young people led by Greta Thunberg, the establishment of the EuropeanGreen Deal in 2019 and the core values of the European Commission's new Bauhaus initiative (January 2021), this project envisions helping people achieve a fair, local, green and economically sustainable transition through the use of digital artistic tools for collaboration, advocacy, community building, participation in democratic processes and policy design.

Urban Heat Island and Public Spaces

The Urban Heat Island is one of the most important problems of the densely built-up area. It is the phenomenon in which we have elevated temperatures, both during the day and at night, compared to the temperature of suburban and rural areas.

The workshop "My neighbourhood in the heatwave" is part of the Pilot Application "Urban Heat Island (UHT) and Public Spaces" of the participatory LAB project funded by the Green Fund under: "Innovative Actions with Citizens".

It is addressed to residents or visitors of the Athens metropolitan area, with the aim to collect data on how citizens experience the heat wave during the summer months. It focuses on the neighbourhoods of Kypseli, Eleonas, Nea Smyrni-Kallithea, Halandriou and Piraeus.
